Compare
TakeOn vs PlanSwift.
PlanSwift is a serious desktop takeoff tool built around assemblies and digital tool sets. TakeOn is the web-native alternative — same basic motions, a modernized data model, and no Windows VM required.
We're working on a longer side-by-side for PlanSwift specifically — assemblies, property handling, exports — but the short version is in the comparison table on every page of this site.
The headline differences: PlanSwift is Windows-only and desktop-installed. TakeOn runs in a browser and is priced per user, monthly or annually, with no machine-locked license. PlanSwift's assemblies are closer to TakeOn's templates than Bluebeam's tool sets, but they still tie to a fixed symbol catalogue; TakeOn's templates are user-defined and carry arbitrary properties.
TakeOn has assemblies too: back a count with a kit and it expands into its priced parts, from a workspace material catalog you can import from CSV, Excel, or a ProEst export. From there a Bid Summary and a branded proposal come out of the same takeoff. On the electrical side, TakeOn also captures panel schedules and one-lines into takeoff and routes homeruns back to the panel for you.
